The Service

Your care sized to your need

Geste Health is a psychiatric direct care practice. Rather than navigating bills per visit, copays, or denials of service, you pay one monthly fee for access to your psychiatrist. The membership fee is based on the level of service need and adjusts over time should your needs change, up or down.

The Membership

Your fee follows your care

Direct care is more than a membership fee. Outside the challenges found with insurance or fee for service models, Geste Health aims to provide the right service with the right information at the right time. Utilizing both synchronous (video chat) and asynchronous (text chat) solutions, care planning and delivery proceeds with the least amount of friction possible. Over time, the goal is to dial the need for care down although Geste Health will continue to be with you should your need for care rise.

  1. Step one

    A conversation

Care starts with a conversation to learn about your story. We will determine how that story might improve and what supports might help us achieve that. Geste Health doesn’t actually do anything to or for you, but assists in your journey to a better self.

  2. Step two

    Set the level

After setting initial goals for an active, accountable therapeutic relationship, visit frequency and services to be offered are agreed to. Keep in mind that care support goes beyond individual video appointments. Messaging and information awareness represent an equally important part of making progress.

  3. Step three

    Adjust as you go

Over time, care goals will include optimizing your medication plan, reassessing your personal narrative, adapting your skill-based therapy goals, and reducing the frequency of visits. Achieving these milestones will adjust the monthly membership fee down. If unexpected stressors should arise, care support and the monthly fee would rise to match your need dynamically.

The Limit

When you need more support

Geste Health offers a range of virtual services and treatments to support those struggling with an unhelpful personal narrative. This struggle is typically expressed as depression, anxiety, or trauma with related challenges in life domains such as work, home, or relationships. The hope is to manage your distress while avoiding lost work, excessive medication burden, emergency room visits, or hospitalizations. This may not always be possible.

Geste Health does not provide 24/7 crisis stabilization, intensive outpatient programming, or partial hospitalization services. And while these services are outside the scope of Geste Health’s practice, members in need of high risk or high acuity care will continue to receive Geste Health’s presence, support, and cooperation with the plan to transition back to Geste Health once the crisis is resolved.

Good to know

Insurance

Commitment
Monthly. Your level is reviewed as your needs change.
Prescriptions

The Fees

Transparent and unsurprising

Geste Health does not bill insurance. This keeps decision making about your care plan between you and your doctor. It also keeps the price something you won’t ever be surprised about.

Membership fees are set by the level of care you need. The fee is agreed upon based on your initial evaluation and assessment. You will be made fully aware of options and services available and will only be charged once the plan is agreed to. Should your needs change, the fee will only change once you have had an opportunity to discuss and agree to the change.

The Fit

Who is Geste Health for?

Good mental health care is not a solution to be given or received. The work of improving your personal narrative is the work of a lifetime that is helped and supported by trained professionals. This means that as a member of Geste Health you are the member of the care team.

This is likely a fit if

  • You are ready to work on yourself, and you want a partner in that.
  • You want a psychiatrist who knows your story, not your chart.
  • You would rather have a monthly fee than navigate bills, copays, and denials.
  • You are comfortable with care delivered virtually.

This is likely NOT a fit if

  • You need care billed to insurance or Medicaid.
  • You are looking for a one-off prescription or a quick fix.
  • You need inpatient, emergency, or in-person crisis care.
  • You are not physically located in a state where Geste Health is licensed.
The secret of getting ahead is getting started.
